Quran Academy required a resilient platform capable of storing and distributing a large multimedia repository to users across different regions. The project focused on high availability, geographic distribution, redundancy, and fast access to a multi-terabyte collection of audio and video content.
The Challenge
Where the organization started.
Quran Academy needed a highly available infrastructure to host and distribute a large multimedia repository, with fast access for users spread across different regions of the world.
- A large multimedia repository, holding multiple terabytes of audio and video content, needed reliable, always-on hosting.
- Users in different regions needed fast, consistent access to the content.
- Content needed to be distributed geographically rather than served from a single location.
- Strong data redundancy was required to protect the multimedia archive against loss.
- The architecture needed to withstand the failure of any single site without disrupting access.
The Solution
What was done.
The response was a geographically distributed multimedia hosting architecture designed for high availability, redundancy, and fast access at scale.
- Designed and implemented a geographically distributed multimedia hosting architecture for the organization.
- Replicated the repository across three different locations, spread across different continents.
- Designed the replication architecture specifically to protect against data loss and single-site failure.
- Implemented high-speed upload capabilities for adding and updating multimedia content.
- Implemented high-speed download capabilities so users in different regions could access large files efficiently.
- Built a redundant storage architecture to support long-term preservation of the multimedia archive.

The repository holds multiple terabytes of audio and video content; exact volume is not specified in source documentation.
Faster streaming & downloads
High-speed global delivery
High-throughput upload and download infrastructure improved access for users across different regions.
Before & After
A quick comparison.
Before
- Large multimedia repository in need of more resilient, distributed hosting
- Users in different regions needed faster, more reliable access
- Limited protection against data loss from a single-site failure
After
- Multimedia repository replicated across three geographically separated, multi-continent locations
- High-speed upload and download infrastructure for global users
- Stronger data redundancy and resilience against single-site failure
- Long-term preservation of a multi-terabyte multimedia archive
