Kitab-o-Sunnat required reliable infrastructure for storing and distributing a very large digital and multimedia collection of Islamic books. The project focused on availability, geographic redundancy, global access, and protection of valuable digital content.
The Challenge
Where the organization started.
Kitabosunnat.com needed infrastructure capable of reliably storing and distributing a very large digital and multimedia collection to a global audience.
- A very large digital and multimedia collection required reliable, always-on storage.
- Users around the world needed fast, dependable access to the library.
- The infrastructure needed to be distributed geographically rather than concentrated in one location.
- Stronger protection against the loss of important digital content was required.
The Solution
What was done.
A distributed hosting and storage architecture was implemented, similar in design to the solution built for Quran Academy.
- Implemented a distributed hosting and storage architecture for the digital library.
- Replicated content across geographically separated locations for redundancy.
- Implemented high-speed access so users could retrieve large files efficiently from different parts of the world.
- Designed the architecture to improve availability and protect against single-site infrastructure failure.
Technology & Expertise
Tools and disciplines applied.
- Geo-distributed storage
- Multi-terabyte content repository
